We've all been there, girls.
We've all thought about when the day when we get a boyfriend or get married. We pray for our future husbands. We all wonder when the right man will come along. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing to want these things. But as Christian girls, we're called to something more. Matthew 6:33 says to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. We're called to seek God above all else, and be satisfied in Him. Let's go in on a train of thought and find the root of our desires. I wonder when the right guy will come along ... I hope he comes soon ... "I wonder if he's (fill in the blank)" ... I need a boyfriend ... since I don't have a boyfriend, I must not be loved ... God doesn't satisfy me with His love. Did you catch that at the bottom? God doesn't satisfy me with His love. Ladies, your desires aren't bad. But we all need to step back and examine our hearts. Ask yourself some personal questions: -Why do I want a boyfriend? Because my friends do? Because I don't feel loved? Because he will satisfy me? -What preoccupies my mind more often: God, or my crush? God, or wanting a boyfriend? God, or wishing somebody would love me? -Am I seeking God first? Am I satisfied to wait for the right man? Am I focused on growing in my relationship with Christ, or growing in my relationship with a guy that isn't a part of God's plan? We need to ask ourselves these hard questions. The root behind a lot of our seeking and desires is the lie that God's love isn't enough. But what can we do to counteract this? Ladies, we need to let God satisfy us before a man even crosses our mind. Pursuing the Lord should come first. This includes things like reading our Bible--and not just reading, but digging in and studying in order to get to know God more. It includes things like obeying God's Word even when we don't feel like it. Praying when it hurts, and praying when life is going well. Memorizing--hiding God's Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him. Finding an older (even just a few years older) woman who can mentor and help us grow. Letting God satisfy us is a process, but it's a process we need to go through. It is so important to make sure we are first and foremost satisfied in God's love before seeking the love of a guy. Their love ultimate won't satisfy our souls: only God's can. So let's pursue God above all else and make Him first, our highest priority. Single girl, let God satisfy you.

Amen! I just recently went to a Bible camp for those interested in missions and the main point I took from there is PURSUE GOD! We must pursue God in all aspects of our lives!

Thank you again Aria. I'm going through that time of 'dreaming' at the moment. I always thought to myself if it is honorable before the Lord. And you are right about God's love. It IS the only thing that can satisfy my heart.
